-20080318- London, Ontario,Canada-- Vietnam war resister Marshal Mangan, now a Professor at Althouse College at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, looks at an award he won in basic training with the U.S. Army in 1969. In May of 1970 after being ordered from his desk job at the Pentagon to riot duty on the streets of Washington D.C., Mangan decided to flee to Canada. In 1975 Mangan was discharged from the Army in an amnesty for deserters. He now holds dual citizenship (Canadian and American) and has returned to the United States many times..AFP PHOTO/Geoff Robins
